1. Heat Treat The Flour And Cool
The way I did this was just to microwave the flour in the microwave for 30-second increments until it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. As someone who sometimes lives on the edge, I feel okay taking the plunge if I’ve ensured my flour is heat-treated. Again, proceed at your own risk!
2. Combine All Ingredients Except Oats and M&M’s
I don’t like the add these until later in case the flour or vanilla were to stick to them and create uneven flavor. No one wants oatmeal saturated in vanilla extract.
3. Add Oats and M&M’s

Salt- you guys, I used to leave the salt out of recipes all the time but am not a super huge fan of this ingredient! It really does make all the difference. Just a pinch in this recipe will add so much depth of flavor. I beg you not to skip it!
Oatmeal- Because monster cookies have oatmeal in them. I use rolled oats for extra texture!
